When you eat, the carbohydrates start to break down into the simplest sugar glucose. This triggers an organ in your body known as the pancreas. - Type 1 Diabetes – Sometimes, the immune system starts damaging cells of the pancreas. As a result, they stop producing insulin or produce it in a small quantity. Among Diabetic patients, 1 in 20 people has type 1 Diabetes. They have to take artificially made insulin to survive.
- Type 2 Diabetes – This is the most common type of Diabetes. About 19 in 20 Diabetic patients have this type of Diabetes. In this type, your body does not use the insulin that the pancreas has made. It is not dependent on insulin. You can treat this by doing regulate exercise and taking healthy food. Dropping excessive fats from your body helps fight this type of Diabetes.
- Gestational Diabetes – This is a special type of Diabetes that happens in pregnancy.
The surprising thing is that it happens in those females who do not have a prior history of diabetes. It goes away as soon as the pregnancy ends. Women should take medicines to control it as they can get type 2 diabetes later in life. It is also controlled by exercise, a healthy diet and weight gain.

Adopting a healthy lifestyle will help you prevent or delay the onset of type 2 Diabetes. Take healthy food and avoid intake of saturated foods and sugar.
