QS Japan University Ranking 2019 released this ranking list among 75 Japanese Universities. For this ranking, they use the methodology of 11 indicators such as academic reputation, faculty/ student ratio (which assesses the proportion of full-time academic staff members employed per student enrolled), employer reputation, international research network, and more. 10. Keio University

This is the very first private institution for higher education. This is 10th among Japanese universities and it is 198th among world universities according to QS World University Ranking. It was established by Yukichi Fukuzawa in 1858 in Edo(Now Tokyo) for western studies. Today, there are over 300 overseas institution partners. 9. Waseda University

7. Hokkaido University

This is started in 1876 as a Sapporo Agricultural College and this was the first institute of higher education in Japan to award bachelor of degree. This founded by the empire of Japan. It is also a member of the imperial university, which is the combination of the nation’s most prestigious universities. The world ranking is 128th and 7th place got among Japan universities. 6. Nagoya University

It was founded in 1939 and one of the leading seven imperial universities. This university has achieved some of the highest standards in research and accounts for almost one-third of Japan’s Nobel laureates in science over the decades. 5. Tohoku University

3. Osaka University

The Osaka University which is founded in 1724 and it’s being sixth oldest University in the country. Currently, hold 3rd place among Japan universities and 67th according to the global ranking. According to QS World University Ranking by subject 2018, Osaka University selected to best 50 universities for chemical engineering, physic, and astronomy, Natural sciences. Osaka University achieves 3rd place by achieving excellent scores for most of the indicators.
