All the sensors on your device that you may or may not know. Do you know all the sensors on your device? What are their functions? Why should we use them? Don’t be afraid. By the end of reading this article, you will know all about it.
Types of Mobile Phone Sensors and their Functions
Fingerprint Sensors
Most of the smartphones nowadays have Fingerprint Sensor. In fact, it has now become a common feature. You can usually see it on the back of your device or perhaps in the lower section of the front of the device. Some manufacturers have started customizing it to support screen display.
The fingerprint sensor actually reads and stores the biometric data on our fingers. In fact, instead of unlocking the phone with a password or pattern, unlock the device with your own biometric data.
Accelerometer
Accelerometer sensor is available on both Android and Apple iPhone. This sensor can detect your phone’s tilt or orientation. Besides, this sensor can detect Vibration and Acceleration on your phone. Its main purpose is to help you determine if your device is in portrait or landscape orientation.
Also, this sensor can detect whether your device’s display is in an upward or downward position. It also detects movement in any direction on the phone.

Gyroscope
The Gyroscope sensor is often used to determine the orientation, rotation, and direction of your device more accurately. The most common apps that use this sensor are gaming apps.
Hall Sensor
The Hall Sensor is used to identify magnetic fields. Even with a cover, this sensor can keep your smartphone from sleeping or waking up.
GPS (Global Positioning System)
GPS is one of the best-known sensor species. The GPS sensor is one of the most common features of smartphones today. This helps you find information about any location on Earth and navigation.
