How to Install LineageOS on Android

Initial Step:  Please makes sure your device and also your computer are ready to start the process

Before going through the steps be sure your devices and everything ready to process and be sure whether the phone also ready to take on a ROM. Step 01: There are a few tools you need to get success.

• SU File: For Root Access. This is optional.
• Lineage OS: Actual OS you set to be.
• GApps: Google Apps package for all gooeyness. This is optional.
• TWRP: This is custom recovery. You should need this for flashing all o the things belong to Lineage OS.

Download the team win recovery project(TWRP)

TWRP is a custom recovery that is basically required before you can flash Lineage.

To gain it. click the device tag of the top of the home page of TWRP  

Then type your model of the phone in the given text box. You must make sure that the model name is the correct one because there are many similar names that have different models.

After selecting the model you need to scroll down the page and there is a section named “Download Links”.Then you need to click the appropriate link that belongs to your region.

Then click the latest version’s link, it arranges another page, now you need to click the Download button to download it.

Download Lineage Build:

If you scoured the Lineage website at the moment 50% of your process done. Then just get the latest version and ready.

Optional work out: Downloading the Google Apps

Enable Developer Mode and USB Debugging

Step 02: Unlock the Boot-loader.

Now you enter the second step. Now you complete the download things and enabling things.

Now you should unlock the boot-loader of the phone. Give attention to backing up the phone before.

Then connect the computer and phone over USB. And navigate the folder which is ADB and Fast booster files stored. Then need to open the command prompt or power shell window to the above-mentioned folder. There is a usual way to do this shift-right-click and select on “open power shell window here”.

If the device is connected in the proper way, then type adb devices on the prompt and press Enter key.

It shows your device in the list of attached devices. Before you never use ADB  it will ask from your permission for grant ADB access. You should tick to its checkbox and tap OK.

If it returns “unauthorized” at the first attempt, you need to try again, and then you have authorized access mode on your phone.

Then type adb reboot bootloader and press enter key. After finished the rebooting, type fastboot oem unlock and press Enter key to unlock the bootloader. Now your phone will reset and make sure you have a backup it early. Then you have to select “yes” using your volume button and power button. Using the volume up button will help to go to the yes option and, using the power button you can confirm it. Then we can move to custom recovery flashing.

Step 03: Flash TWRP

Before that device take some several time to formatting purpose. After finishing it you need to go folder which is saved TWRP and then open its command prompt or power shell window. The path for it we mentioned before. Then type fastboot flash recovery <nameofrecovery.img>

Attention on the <nameofrecovery.img> . Here you should match your file. For example you have “twrp-3.2.1-1-hammerhead.img” then your command will be “fastboot flash recovery <hammerhead.img>“. Read more- Flash TWRP>>

Step 04: Reset / Wipe partitions

Then you need to complete the process of launch the recovery. Using volume keys find the option which is “Recovery mode”, and using the power button enter recovery. Then pop-up windows have wipe option, you will need to press it and then also need to press the advanced wipe option.

After that ticking up the following System, Data, Cache, and swipe the slider to start the wiping process.

Then reboot the system using the button below.

Step 05: Flash Lineage, GApps, and SU

Again you need to back your command prompt or power shell window, and type adb push <nameoflineagebuild.zip> / sdcard In Android phones call local storage like SD card.

No need an actual SD card for this purpose. It copies linkage download file in phones local storage, for flashing.

If having optionally GApps and SU using following command you can move those.

adb push <gapps.zip>/sdcard

adb push <su.zip>/sdcard

Then you may need to move three files to your phone’s storage. When do those things you should tap the install button and then choose lineage download

It must first tab on your queue. Then tap the “Add more zips” bottom of the screen after choosing GApps. This process should repeat for the SU. Then make sure the top reads “3 of max 10 file queued”.Then swipe to flash all of the things , this process will take some several time.

Step 06: Boot and Set-Up 

After all you need to reboot your phone once.
